Austin is proud to host South By Southwest (SXSW) every year in March. Folks who live and breathe in the technology space, film and/or music industries descend upon the city by the thousands. There are over 5,000 sanctioned events over the course of two weeks that draws close to 50,000 to our fair city. Music is a big part of SXSW and a big part of Stubb’s. Stubb’s restaurant hosts some of the best shows in the city during SXSW, with the likes of Dave Grohl’s Sound City Players (consisting of John Fogerty, Stevie Nicks, Rick Springfield and Lee Ving) jamming at this venerable bar-b-q joint and music venue. The Meat Puppets and Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds will also be playing Stubb’s this week.
While on the topic of SXSW music, one of our business partners is WCG, a leading social commerce company. A good friend of mine heads up WCG and asked me to help create a list of emerging musical artists or bands that might hit it big following SXSW.
So take a look at our crystal ball list and keep your ears open.
