If you were to poll a large group of people in this country what their favorite comfort food is, I guarantee that many would answer “meatloaf.” What makes this dish of ground meat and tomato sauce so great? Its simplicity. It’s a no-frills dish that is sure to please almost any palate.
But I couldn’t just give you a standard ground beef and ketchup meatloaf recipe here now, could I?
For this revamped meatloaf recipe below, I decided to add another much-loved food to the dish: bacon! By wrapping the bacon around the meatloaf, it keeps the meat moist while getting slightly crispy on the outside. I also ditched the ketchup for the sweet and savory flavors in Stubb’s Bar-B-Q Slider Cookin’ Sauce pack. Smoke and spices in the Cookin’ Sauce and spice pack paired with the sticky sweet molasses and brown sugar finishing sauce make this dish out-of-this world tasty.
This bacon barbecue meatloaf makes a heartwarming and filling dinner straight out of the oven, but be sure to have a little extra left over because it will make the best meatloaf sandwich this side of the Mississippi (whichever side of the Mississippi you happen to be on).
Pick up the ingredients for this dish the next time you’re at the grocery store and don’t forget: nix the ketchup and grab the Stubb’s instead!
