Stubb never intended to bottle his sauce. For years, his friends Sharon and Joe Ely begged him to do it, but he was too stubborn to agree. Then, around Christmas of 1989, Sharon tried a new strategy, “He needed money for Christmas presents, so I said, please let us do it just this once. A tasty blend of garlic, black pepper, rosemary, tumeric, salt, and a whole bunch of other adventurous spices.
Instructions: Generously rub on beef, pork or chicken before cooking.
A Little Something Extra: In 1992, Stubb fed the entire crew and studio audience of The Late Show with David Letterman. Then in 2007, Adam Sandler raved about both the sauce and restaurant on the show.
